Minty Leopard

Leopard top: Dots | Tank: Old Navy | Shorts: Gap | Bag: F21 | Necklace: Davids Bridal | Shoes: Old Navy

Skirt: Target | Necklace: Groopdealz | Bracelets: Charlotte Russe & Jawbone UP, Alex & Ani | Shoes: Shoedazzle

When I read about this weeks Trend Spin Linkup I knew I wanted to wear this top. I immediately went for this skirt because I've been reaching for it since I bought it back at the beginning of this month.
However, when I put the two together for SJL I got the 'meh' look. (You know the one ladies.)
So then I remembered an outfit I saw on Pinterest and whipped out these shorts and received the nod of approval. But I still liked the skirt pairing so I brought out my 'Wilma' necklace and skully bracelet for a little photo fun anyway- 'meh' look be damned.
Now don't get me wrong- if there is something I want to try out I will, but its always nice to know my other half is going to want to look at me while I'm in it. =)

So what do you do when your S.O. isn't keen on something you thought was perfect?

In either case, I felt fierce in this top.

What I bought for March

(& part of April and maybe May)

yeah...its that bad. When I get bit by the shopping bug that's it...stick a fork in me...my wallets toast. Well ya'll know how bad I want spring. Well in my mind if I buy it...spring will come. And dresses I've been buying. With shoes and bags to match. And jewelry. Ohhh jewelry. So here's a round-up of what I bought:

I bought the red clutch instead of the yellow because the store was sold out but with all the new poppy in my closet I figured I'd get more use out of it. Ditto for the flat black and whites. Now they may not be the floral I fell for, but they're adorable and comfy soooo, whats not to love?

The striped dress I originally wanted in black and white but on a whim went with the teal, because that's how I roll. And I think teal and neon yellow = LOVE.

I'm on the fence about the Old Navy neon flats, the 7's were too tight and the 8's seem a little big but I think (hope) I can deal.

This little guy was love at first sight. I actually had another necklace in mind to pair with the shirtdress but put it back for my little peacock. (It's okay because I have a 30% off coupon that starts in a couple days so you see I'll just go back and get it for a deeper discount. This is how the madness begins!!)
I love every single piece and can't wait to style them all.
You might notice some things are different than my what I want for March post. Well that's because some things have sold out and I am not a patient "lets wait for delivery person" I want what I want. (I know what you're thinking "uh...spoiled much?" I know.Blame my parents.)
However, I am very pleased with my purchases and came home satisfied that I will be content until the end of April/beginning of May when I just know I'll need new summer things. (Which is so not true I just know how my mind works.) That is until I saw that JCP, Kohls and Target are doing collabo's in the coming months and well...I missed out on Prabal Garung cause I was trying to be good and I'm kicking myself in the ass, so if I miss these, I will be destroyed. (too dramatic?) Well I'll try my damnedest to behave and pay off my cards instead of maxing them out. Debt free is the way to be?!

In total I spent a little under $250 with sales, coupon discounts and returns and exchanges. Which is pretty much two months of what I should be spending on clothing, etc.
So its closet remixing time! (And coupon clipping tiiiime!) Who's with me?
Have you ever been on a shopping spree? (duh...stupid question)
What tricks do you use to curb spending and how often do you splurge?
Who budgets for clothing (or anything at all for that matter, I'm terrible!)

P.s. Sorry for the long post- I guess I'm just passionate about my new duds!

Oxblood & Cream

Went out to lunch with my parents last week and did a little shopping after. I wanted to wear something comfy and stretchy and these pants were perfect. The day wasn't too cold (the sun actually peeked out from the clouds!) so the blazer alone was the perfect layer. Thank god I made it through lunch without getting it dirty! (I'm FAMOUS for that!)
The jewelry is something sentimental as I received it for being a bridesmaid in a friends wedding last fall. It was the perfect length to compliment the basic black tee and it matched the shoes.
My new Vera Smartphone wristlet is a treat I received for Valentines day and I wear it with everything...even if it doesn't necessarily match.
These are my favorite flats. Had them for years. Will be devastated if they die. Please don't die little leopards.
Disregard the rolled up jeans. Mamma needs a sewing machine.

Tee: Gap (similar)
Jeans : Jordache (similar+, similar)
Necklace & Earrings: Charming Charlies (gifted)
Shoes: Jessica Simpson (similar, similar)
Bracelets: Pandora (gifted)
Watch: Dots

Whats in your closet that you just never want to part with?
Send me comments, email, tweets, grams, whatevs.

What I Want for March

Women's Twill Cargo Vests

I've been contemplating getting a cargo something for a while, that blazer is the perfect mix or spring colors and I'm in need of a neon yellow clutch. That necklace is perfect and I can never say no to floral pumps. Aaaand skulls may be a secret obsession. Its my inner badass coming out to play I suppose. Here's hoping I can find everything at a discount!

What is it that you want for the start of spring? And how excited are you?? I can't wait for all this snow to melt!

Shopping and coffee with friends

Scarf: similar, similar
I wore this outfit for a casual day at the mall for coffee and pedis with friends. This was my first time wearing my new wedge sneakers. When they first started coming out I wasn't sold. I've never been a huge fan of sneakers with everyday clothes- it seems just a little too relaxed. With yoga pants or sweats sure. (But really...never wear sweats in public unless its to the gym mmmkay?) And definitely not with a cardi sweater.
I bought the shoes on a whim to try them on with different styles at home. It wasn't until I asked my fiances opinion that I was hooked. He said he actually liked them. ::GASP::
He never says things like that.
I lie.
He does tell me what he likes and doesn't like on me and he's honest every time. I know because there's been times when I think something looks smoking  hot and he says...meh.
& Vice versa
Anyways he says to me I look comfortable and relaxed and meanwhile I feel taller and just a wee bit more confident with the wedge. So I kept them. They were perfect for mall exercises.

Then I bought this pair after seeing DulceCandy on Instagram with them.
It was a steal from Delias at $50 shipped cause Google told me they were going for $100 everywhere else. It was on sale- last in my size- perfect color- love at first sight status.  I had no where to go but I didn't want to take them off.

The rest of the outfit is tired but true. Gap tee, Old Navy jeans and Target   cardigan been in my closet forever. The scarf is the most recent purchase last fall when I was on the hunt for a animal print scarf  and obsessed with colored everything.
Lets be real...I still am.

P.S. I managed my first sock bun! It took me a few tries and maybe a little frustration (thank you layers) but I got it! What should I try next??
