Tie Dye Love

When I received this scarf in the mail I had to wear it immediately. Didn't matter if I had a completely different outfit planned, I changed on the fly. I loved it that much.
A couple months ago I signed up for Etsy because everyone was wearing these gorgeous little shop pieces and I wanted in on the action.
That's when I came across Gertie & Baxter. I loved all their headbands, bags and scarfs, but what I loved most was these grab bags they had. You buy either a scarf, headband or bag grab bag for a discounted price and you get one of their fabulous pieces- as a complete surprise. The item, they say, is a random leftover of sorts, something from their past season.
But ya know what?
I don't care.
The best pieces I have I'll wear all the time. Month after month. Season after season.
Like this scarf.

Tee: Old Navy Vintage (my absolute fave) | Jeans: AE crop festival | Shoes: Aerosoles | Infinity Scarf: Gertie & Baxter | Cuff: Dots

Its the perfect addition to my favorite white tee and distressed jeans. Its casual and comfortable and cute, so what more could I ask for in anything?

Ya'll should check out the shops new website
and follow the blog

Whats your favorite accessory??

P.S. What do you think of the changes to PolkaDots & Lace? I think not shopping has afforded me some extra energy that I'm channeling! =) Feedback always welcome!

Happy Weekend

Scarf: Calvin Klein | Dress: Old Navy | Shoes: Old Navy

I bought this dress in the spring and as soon as the weather became warm enough I wore this dress.
All. the. time.
You can tell that I wear this dress often.
How?
Because its stained.
The last time I wore this dress I believe tacos were involved and you'd think after twenty some odd years of eating, I'd be proper at it.
But noooo.
I always always manage to spot my favorite scrubs. Or white tee. Or find the lightest color on the dress I'm wearing and spill something right there
Enter obnoxiously vivid scarf to the rescue!
I love navy and orange together and its summer so why not pair lots of brights?
And no one will ever know about the chili escapades of 2013.
shhhhh.....

Anyone have any secret tricks to getting out old stains? I'd love a little advice =)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Faded Blues

These are my favorite pair of jeans. I mean they aren't really anything special and the color is hella faded and the stretch is at its max but they're my go-to. The length, the feel, the comfort, I crave it. Or more like I'm lazy a lot sometimes and need to wear them for something quick.

The scarf makes the outfit really. Its a basic black button up and old jeans. Well the scarf and the shoes really. Cause the shoes are what I really wanted to wear. I've been trying and failing to pair them with every outfit I've worn since they've come in the mail. I wore them once or twice with a sweatshirt or oversized sweater to run out real quick. Other than that its either raining or snowing and boooo to you mother nature!
Todays events were nothing but a trip to the mall to score some spring duds. So why not be comfy, right?

Red Hot

I've mentioned before how reading this blog post on LaurenConrad.com has inspired me to purchase a red blazer as a spring transitional piece. I have a lot of the basics- the polka dot and striped tops, leopard pieces and standout black blouses. I could work wonders with this piece!
I ended up finding a similar blazer at Target recently as the LC jacket was sold out at Kohls. I can't begin to tell you how excited I was. The color and fit is perfect to me.
Mossimo® Womens Ponte Boyfriend Jacket - Assorted Colors
Then when I got home and started reading 'the bible' -AKA the InStyle March issue- I saw this article on red. I knew then it was a great addition to my closet.

Here are some other sweet/ red hot finds:
Prabal Gurung For Target® Ruffle Dress -Apple Red

Mossimo® Womens Ponte Peplum Sleeveless Dress - Assorted Colors
                                                       Sleeveless peplum Tie front blouse

I can't wait to add more color to the spring wardrobe!
Red just brings happiness to my life and this jacket is so comfortable I can't help but feel confident and sexy in it!

What colors are you currently craving for the spring? What pieces are you looking to add for the seasonal transition?
Hopefully for us New Englanders its sooner rather than later, but the meteorologist begs to differ.
Boo.
